Doesn't anyone agree that the original 150 was the best? Before they added a million others, and they had a song so you could know them all? Those were the good ol days, what are your guys' thoughts?

Agreed, especially in the new gen you can tell that they just copied or combined old ones.

I'm going to have to agree. The original 151 weren't some amazingly designed creatures. It's kind of a natural progression for a series like this to seem less original over time, especially when there are a minimum of 100 or so additions to the games per generation.
For me personally, Sapphire was the first game in which I got really into the series, the competitive scene, and even though I thought nearly all of the Pokemon were somewhat dull at the time, I loved 'em.

It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.

I'm just saying, the 5th gen pokes really seem familiar to the point some of them weren't really exciting.

Oh please not this agian ok look how about this stop complaining about the new pokemon or write a letter tellinf them to give up on it they have been going on now for around 13 years give them a break

Uh... yeah. The 150 were pretty cool, but only a few were actually amazing. I can't say I liked all the new pokemon but you have to admit there are some pretty good ones. In terms of design, I can think of several that while similar to previous pokemon look pretty good. I think people tend to romanticize the first gen. because it was the begining. They forget that there were a lot of flaws in the pokemon and a lack of diversity in both the moves and teams you could assemble.

i actually think the opposite. I think the original pokemon were really plain and kind of boring :/.
And before anyone starts talking about how unoriginal it is,i think i should point out that 1st gen had;
voltorb (a pokeball)
electrode (an upside-down pokeball)
dugtrio (three diglets)
rattata (a purple rat)
execute (a group of eggs)
so 1st gen wasnt any better than 5th gen,although it did have some cool pokemon,like charizard,lapras,eevee and its evos,kabutops and dragonair.
