first off, "little-known" means that not many people know about it, these games are usually cheap

mine is ragnorok ds, its based off of an mmorpg and has many of the same machanics
If everyone who followed their dreams made it, we all would be famous.

At the moment, I have three. 1. Descent: It's a DOS game where you use a gunship to destroy robots. 2. Rise of the Triad: An old shooting game in the same style as DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D. 3. Heretic: An I.D. Software creation set in the age of magic and folklore. Very fun.

Actually, I have another one. It's called Blackhawk Striker 2, and its a bird's-eye (above view) helicopter combat game where you destroy an armada of tanks, planes, battleships, war submarines, and turrets...all to get the best high score. It was really fun...

A list of games mentioned that are, indeed, well known:
- Little Big Planet
- Borderlands

A game that isn't even remotely well known anymore is Quake 3: Revolution. I still have it for the PS2. (I play it on my new PS3.)

"Radiant Historia" was a pretty great game, by far one of the best games I played in a while.. Sad it didn't get more publicity then it deserved.

There are so many largely untapped portable gems, especially among second party developers.

Custom Robo Arena is the big one for me. My trophy series. They had me at the robos, the guns, and the huge customisation. This game brings online play in the form of intense one-on-one battles, and in its prime, was defined by it. Look past the surface's cheesiness, and you'll find a surprisingly rare combination of deep strategy and high skill that is easy to pick up and certifiably impossible to master. I've owned the game for over three years and still enjoy it from time to time (meaning, heh, having guiltily indulged in nearly 6000 online matches).

Clubhouse Games is my number two. One of those unsung Nintendo games. It is basically a bucket of traditional games, ranging from solitaire and checkers to billiards and darts, even including generic versions of marquee games such as Battleship, Sorry, Stratego, Othello. The wealth of card games is just indispensable when it's on one game card. Yeah, it has Texas Hold 'Em. And a simple version of Go, a favourite of mine. Nearly every selection is playable online, which is pretty huge, especially for something like chess. Yes, this game is the most addicting thing I have ever inserted into my DS.

And I don't think EBA is hipster anymore.
Catch my drift.
