To clear things up

Dear everyone...

I am Robdeprop, and as some of you may know, I am known as bad here. That is the reason why I am writing this blog, to clear thing up. I am going to describe what happened, what I did do, and what I didn't do. I hope that after this, we can finally put an end to this.

It all started when a security hole was found in DSiPaint (XSS hole). At first I kinda thought it was funny and started posting funny links on post such as links that would say "TROLOLOLOLOL" if you clicked on them. But then I saw other people starting to use it, too... And I became a little bit worried. DSiPaint was/ is my favourite website, and the security hole could also be used for hacking.

So I went into one of the chatrooms, and told one of the moderators (I am not going to say names) about the hack, and asked him/ her if he/ she could inform HullBreach. He/ She asked for proof, so I used the hack to get in somebody's account. But then I got banned and perma'd. I don't know if the same mod did it, but never mind.

I was kind of sad that my account got perma'd, but I started searching for ways to get in contact with HullBreach, so I could tell him the hack (and maybe let him also restore my Robdeprop account)

I created another account and used the hack on a mods account, and mailed HullBreach through it. It didn't help though. I didn't get a reply.

Meanwhile, I lost controll of the mods account, and got perma'd again.

So I created a new account, and this time, I tried the helpdesk. I reported the security hole and possible hack there. I got a reply saying that it was fixed now, so I checked it. It was indeed fixed, but really easy to get around that, so the security hole was still not fixed. So I submitted a new question saying that the hack was still possible, but that one didn't really have success

Meanwhile, moderators found out that that account was mine, and perma'd me again.

I was kinda out of good ideas about how to let HullBreach know... Then I started to imitate like DSiPaint was really getting hacked (without doing real damage), causing chaos so that HullBreach would mention it.
The chaos part of this plan worked, but it still didn't reach HullBreach.

I decided to give it one more try. My new tactic was to tell this whole story to a moderator in the hope that he/ she would believe me, and mail HullBreach.

This actually worked out. I became friends with a mod (still not mentioning names), and he/ she helped me contacting HullBreach. HullBreah hasn't responded though.

So I gave up. I realized that in all this time nobody had hacked DSiPaint, so I thought that DSiPaint would be okay. I left DSiPaint for a few weeks in the hope that they would forget about all the chaos, and returned.

Most people have, some don't, however. To these people I would like to say sorry. I maybe could have better just have done nothing. Please forgive me. I didn't intend bad things. Please, please give me a second chance. DSiPaint is my favourite website. It inspired me to learn programming and create my own websites (I am not naming them).

Kind regards,
- Robdeprop

Hey, rob. Guys, i understand what happened here. Rob is just like me. He loves linkin park and skillet, his favourite websites are dsipaint and 3dsplaza, he was inspired to start website development by dsipaint. And i got banned in a similar way. Except i didn't hack. Here is my story. My friend got banned, because somebody else did something wrong, and a moderator thought it was him. I told the mod, and they said they didn't care. I got into a huge argument with her, and ended up banned. I accepted that i could have dealed with it another way, so i logged on the next day and BAM. My account was gone. Probably the mod getting revenge. I made an alt. account, and got perma'd. i made another, gone. I made ANOTHER, and gone. I told commander the honest story, and he gave me permission to make an alt account.made it, then BAM gone. i told him again and he said the same thing. I made one with a different email, ip and proxy. Then i told sum1 who i was and they dobbed me in. Finally, with moderators permission, im back, permanently. I have recently been told that the bad moderator has lost her rights as a moderator. On 3dsplaza my sister used my account to try and INVADE 3dsplaza. She even hired hackers. But i got a ten day ban, told rob what happened, and everyone else. They all accepted that i had made a mistake by letting others on my account. This is the way 3dsplaza deal with thngs, and they are WAY more popular. That is because they dealt with my rule breaking sensibly. This site will be much better if u accept that rob made a mistake. He owned up. So leave him alone, haters. i am jbarcade of 3dsplaza by the way, and my old paint account was snapapple.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. I know a way you can communicate with Hull without needing an account but I really don't know if he would appreciate it if I did that. Commander and TheRam were my go-to guys when I had issues with being perma'd. Then I befriended Sammy on Facebook.
I have many ways to communicate with Hull, starting with him being on my friends here, his email, I could even find his postal address via a whois if I needed.

Did you read the entire story or just skim across it? He thought he was doing something good. As a fact, he probably saved our butts. (I know it sounds Corney but I don't want to cuss) There are several former members who would love to seek revenge to those who have "wronged" them in the past.

I know, web development indeed is a huge maze.

P.s: Can I add one of you (for example COMMANDER to my friends list, to prevent such situations in the future?)

You could use me as a gateway, as COMMANDER is on my friends list.

I was one of the first mods that Rob went to. I actually did TRY to help him. I mailed Hullbreach right away when he was telling me about the security hole. I told Rob that I will handle this and not to use the hack link anymore. And that is exactly what he DIDN'T do. He continued tricking people into clicking the links, so I banned him, though, I did not perma him since I do not have those kinds of powers. Another mod did perma him though, whose name will remain unknown. Even though I had banned Rob, he still had access to a mod's account and access to an active member's account. With those accounts he began posting the link on their profiles and began mailing a lot of people the hack link, then getting even MORE access to accounts. When HullBreach fixed the security hole, Rob found another loop hole. So, Rob went back to me and told me about this, so I mailed HullBreach YET AGAIN. I told him NOT to use the hack link, or I would ban him again. And what did he do? He continued giving out the links to people and gaining access to their accounts. I began banning the hacked accounts, and then he started making a bunch of alts. So, he may act like he wants to help, but if he really did, don't you think he wouldn't have caused chaos? Now, I do think everyone should get a second chance, but if I see Rob attempting to hack again, I WILL ban. Thanks and that will be all.

There are many instances where people have good intentions, but due to impatience or something, they decide to go about it in a way that they know isn't the way it should be done.
What you should have done is contacted HullBreach (via email) and said nothing about it.

You know, HullBreach isn't some magical magician! He can't just instantly fix the problem. It takes time to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. The part where you said "but nothing happened" isn't true. While you were causing chaos, HullBreach was trying to fix the mess you started. Thank you for apologizing, but if I see one suspicious link, you know what's coming to you.
Avatar Rob-de-prop
09 Jul 2011 13:53
@Nope.jpg: That was when I was imitating like DSiPaint was being under attack. Zoey messaged Hullbreach, but nothing happened and I was perma'd.

It wasn't the best way to take action, I was stressed and thought I'd have to inform him fast or it would be too late. I was wrong though.

Again, I apology
